Badass Muslimah is a free digital content creation project based out of Toronto, that will be providing access skill training for young Muslim women. The project hopes to create a safer space for young Muslim women to learn how to utilize digital tools to tell our own unique stories.

Badass Muslimah is designed to empower young Muslimahs with the necessary skills and tools to share their stories on a digital platform. The project, funded by Art Reach, in participation with the Outburst! Movement, seeks to help provide skills to Muslimahs aged 15-29. Outburst! Young Muslim Women Project is a movement of young Muslim women in Toronto who are breaking silence and speaking out about violence through art, research and education. Sarah Tariq is a digital media artist based out of Greater Toronto Area. Sarah makes short films and cool digital art sometimes. In the past she has TAed at OCAD University and co-founded a small digital production studio. Sarah has always believed that Muslimah’s are resilient, witty, passionate, i.e badass; our voices and stories rarely get told from our perspective, Badass Muslimah hopes to change that.
